Lorraine Reaveley – Mother of Actor Pablo Schreiber

lorraine reaveley is the body-based psychotherapist and mother of actor Pablo Schreiber. The pair were born on a hippie commune in Ymir, British Columbia, and raised together in Winlaw, B.C., before they split and moved to Seattle, Washington, when the actor was 12 years old. They share a father, Tell Schreiber, and a half-brother, Liev Schreiber.

Her Life

Lorraine Reaveley is a Canadian body-based psychotherapist. She is the mother of famous American-Canadian actor Pablo Schreiber who has starred in such films as The Wire and Orange Is the New Black. She has also worked in Broadway shows. She has received numerous awards for her work in theater.

Schreiber was born in a hippie commune in Ymir, British Columbia, before moving to the unincorporated rural community of Winlaw when he was six months old. His father was an actor and his half-brother, Liev Schreiber, is an actor as well. Their parents divorced when Schreiber was 12 and they moved to Seattle, Washington. Schreiber was named after the Chilean poet Pablo Neruda, whose writing had influenced his dad. He has appeared in a number of dramas and has made some memorable performances.

Her Work

Known for her work as a body-based psychotherapist, Lorraine Reaveley is a renaissance woman of the body and mind. She is a proud Canadian whose achievements are many and varied. She was the first woman to complete the Canadian national gymnastics team and has won an award for her athletic achievements. She also has a degree in art therapy and is a certified yoga instructor. She has written several books and is an active member of the arts community in Vancouver, BC. Her best-known work is her portrayal of a crooked corrections officer on the Netflix series “Orange Is the New Black.” She has been nominated for numerous awards.

Her Family

In addition to her husband and children, Lorraine Reaveley was surrounded by friends and colleagues who showed up in force for her family’s second dinner fundraiser in the Tri-Cities. Organizers had originally set a goal of $25,000, but when the count was done Sunday night, more than $47,035 had been raised.

The event at Cat and Fiddle restaurant was a hit, as were the donations. Approximately 156 auction items, from an autographed Vancouver Canucks jersey to furniture and big-screen TVs, were donated.

Several people who won prizes in the 50-50 raffle also gave their winnings to the cause. And some of the serving staff donated their tips.

The actor is known for his theatrical work, as well as his portrayals of the Polish-American character Nick Sobotka on HBO’s The Wire and crooked corrections officer George “Pornstache” Mendez on Netflix’s Orange Is the New Black. His stage work has earned him a Tony Award nomination. He is also an accomplished musician.

Her Friends

Fitness trainer Mrs Reaveley was standing at the side of the Lougheed Highway in Coquitlam on February 19 2011 when she heard about an accident. She and her husband Dan, along with their friends Kimberley and Giacomo deBenedictis, pulled over to help the occupants of a Nissan Pathfinder that had crashed into a median.

Cory Sater, a roofer from Vancouver, ran over the couple with his SUV, killing them instantly. He had been drinking heavily at a bar that night, downing six double rye whisky and cokes and two Jaegerbomb shots before the crash.

At his trial in New Westminster Supreme Court, Crown counsel played a 911 call by friend Kimberley Moore that captures the moment both women were killed. She was screaming “oh my God” and then says to the dispatcher that her friend is dead.
