Katinka Naess is the daughter of Diana Ross and Norwegian shipping magnate Arne Naess. She has one biological brother, Evan Ross, and three step-siblings; Rhonda Ross Kendrick, Chudney Ross Silberstein, and Tracee Ellis Ross.

Her father was a renowned mountaineer and died on 13 January 2004 in a climbing accident in South Africa. He was 66 years old.
