Julia Lazar Franco is best known as the lead singer of a rock band called Exit and the wife of American actor Tom Franco. She was also a camera operator, publicist and manager who took care of the Franco brothers’ business.
In 2003, she met her future husband while working with him at his Ashram family retreat community. They instantly connected and began dating.
Having a deep interest in yoga and art, they bonded over their shared passion for spirituality. They then collaborated on various artistic projects and performances, as well as running their own cultural initiative.
They eventually became partners in the Firehouse Art Collective, an establishment that supports artists by providing them with affordable living spaces and studios. They also encourage interdisciplinary collaboration.
She also worked at the SYDA Foundation in the US, which provides food to children who live in poverty. She later moved to Paris, France, where she studied at Le Cordon Bleu culinary institute.

Julia Lazar Franco is the wife of American actor Tom Franco and co-founded ‘The Firehouse Art Co’ project with him. She passed away in 2014 from hepatitis C and liver cancer.
She was born on 7th November 1957 in Vienna, Austria to Imre Lazar and Marika Nagy. She studied Painting and Life Drawing at the Academy of Fine Arts and also pursued fashion at Hetzendorf Modeschule.
In the 1990s, she moved to India for soul-searching and in pursuit of spirituality. She joined a secluded religious dwelling called an ashram and learnt yoga. She then traveled to Paris and studied cooking at the Le Cordon Bleu culinary institute.
Afterwards, she returned to California in the 2000s. She then aligned herself with another ashram in Bay Area, and met the love of her life, Tom Franco. They dated for a decade before getting married in July 2014.

After completing her studies, she moved to the United States and became a part of an artistic community in California. While there, she pursued her love for singing & became the lead singer of a local rock band, Exit.
She also joined an ashram (a place for a religious retreat) in India, where she learned yoga & cooking.
She later met Tom Franco, who became her husband and frequent collaborator. They tied the knot in July 2014, just a month before she died from complications related to chronic hepatitis C and end-stage liver cirrhosis. Her passing left a hole in Tom’s heart and devastated the Franco family.
