Paulina Rubio has a baby son named Eros and the pop star just showed off her pride and joy in the latest issue of Hola!.
The star reveals that she and her boyfriend Gerardo Bazua wanted to name their child after the Greek god of love, Eros. Their son was born on March 5, 2016, a few days prematurely.
Eros is the Greek god of love
Eros, known as Cupid to the Romans, was the god of love and sexual desire. His arrows, which he launched from a bow, roused overpowering love and passion in anyone they pierced.
He was a mischievous, and sometimes cruel, god who could be very powerful. He meddled in the affairs of mortals and even other gods when he wanted to. One story tells of how he made Apollo fall in love with a nymph, Daphne, after she mocked his archery skills.
Later, he became a popular figure in Greek art. He often appeared with Aphrodite, who is also his mother.
Hesiod portrays him as a primordial deity born at the very beginning of time to stimulate procreation. Other writers depict him as a son of Aphrodite.
Eros is the Greek god of beauty
Eros bazua rubio, or Cupid to Romans, was a Greek god of beauty and love. He was a companion of Aphrodite, the goddess of love and fertility. He is often depicted as a beautiful youth with mischievous pranks.

The first mention of Eros is in the Orphic sources. Hesiod wrote about him in the Theogony and his birth is attributed to Nyx, the primordial goddess of night.
Another version of Eros is attributed to Aristophanes, the famous playwright. Hesiod and Aristophanes both describe Eros as being born out of an egg laid by Nyx in the dark world of Erebus.
In one myth, Eros was commanded by Aphrodite to make her daughter Psyche fall in love with the ugliest man in the world. Psyche fell in love with Eros, but Aphrodite was still jealous and told her she would have to do three things before she could get Eros back.
Eros is the Greek god of justice

Hesiod also described the god as a primeval, lonely, and very powerful deity. Several other poets echo this account in their own cosmogonies.
In a cosmogony composed about 500 bce, Orpheus tells the story of Eros and the creation of heaven and earth. In this account, Eros comes out of a shining egg created by Time; he fertilizes the cosmic darkness and gives birth to heaven and earth.
In later Greek poetry, Eros is usually depicted as a male figure with winged wings. In satirical works, Eros is sometimes portrayed as a mischievous and beautiful boy with charming eyes.
Eros is the Greek god of music
Eros, the Greek god of love, is known for his beautiful appearance and his ability to seduce and attract women. He was a favorite subject of ancient Greek artists, who often portrayed him as an adolescent fluttering above scenes of romance or weddings.

One of the most well-known Greek myths about Eros involves Psyche and his marriage to her. The story details the jealousy that arose between Aphrodite and Psyche when she learned that Eros was in love with her.
However, Eros eventually was able to overcome his jealousy and forgive his mother for what she had done. As a result, Psyche and Eros became married and remained happily together.
