Leon Harris, a 1979 graduate of Buchtel High School, secured a National Merit Scholarship to Ohio University where he met his better half Dawn Lomax. Her family was also from Akron, Harris’ old neighborhood.

Leon and Dawn wedded in August 1986. They are blessed with two children: Darren and Lauren. Darren lives in Seattle and is a Bucknell University graduate, while Lauren functions as an early childhood education teacher.
