He is survived by his parents, Thomas Ray Hunt Jr. and Deandrea Michelle Cox Hunt; sister, Tiffany Parrish; brother, Tyler Parrish; grandparents, Tom and Jean Hunt and Roxanne Upton. He is also survived by 14 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his aunt, Casandra Cox.
He has a passion for community involvement.
As a youngster, Daniel had a passion for community involvement. He was a proud member of the Knights of Columbus and the YMCA, among others. He also made time for family, friends and pets. He was a true gentleman. The best part about all of it was that he was always the one to be there for you. Whether he was at the office, on the golf course or at home with the family, Daniel was a joy to be around. He will be missed. The best way to honor his memory is to donate to the Knights of Columbus or the YMCA.
He is a graduate of the University of North Carolina School of Law.

Knight earned bachelor’s degrees in economics (1969) and sociology (1970) from NC State and his law degree from Carolina Law in 1974. He went on to earn an MBA from New York University in 1986.
