Bhavna Vaswani is a psychologist and social worker. She is married to American filmmaker M. Night Shyamalan and enjoys a happy life with her family.
Originally from India, she moved to Hong Kong when her father established an import/export business there. However, her dad’s company went bankrupt and the family relocated to America where he had been offered a job.
Bhavai
Bhavna Vaswani is an Indian-American therapist and social worker. She was born in Uganda and lived there for the first year of her life. Her family later came to India.
Bhavai, also known as vesha or swang, is a popular folk theatre form in western India. It consists of several small skits interspersed with musical and suggestive dance and bawdy humour.
Subtle social criticism laced with pungent humour is the speciality of Bhavai. The pompus and incongruous behaviour of people belonging to different levels of social strata ranging from kings to knaves is scoffed at in the play.
The loose structure of the veshas gives tremendous latitude to the performers in improvising situations and dialogues incorporating materials from contemporary events and literature. This flexibility and spontaneity have endeared the performance to villagers.
Hari Bhau Ji
A singer-songwriter with a soulful voice, bhavna vaswani Madhuri Jadhav has carved a niche for herself among the audience. Her melodious and heart-centered songs are enchantingly soothing, bringing peace and joy to the listeners.
She has a dazzling career in Hindustani classical music, and her popularity continues to grow. She is a disciple of renowned Hindustani vocalist Pandit Dr. Haribhau ji Khandare and has won several awards in her career.
Besides writing in Hindi, Hari Bhau Ji had also written in other languages like Sanskrit and Farsi etc. He had a unique style of using different languages with appropriate words and idioms.
He edited a book titled ‘Audember’ for a few years and later helped to edit ‘Saraswati’ under Mahaveer Prasad Ji Dwivedi. This was where he learned the art of writing with a simple natural style which even those people who could not read Hindi or English could understand.
Vaani
Vaani is the name of the singer-songwriter who has made her mark in the world of music with her powerful and soulful vocals. Her popularity has been soaring in recent times.
She is a former model and was signed by Elite Model Management. She has also worked as a fashion blogger and has appeared in several commercials.
Her first film was Guddi (1971) directed by Hrishikesh Mukherjee, where she recorded a song titled “Bole Re Papihara” featuring Jaya Bachchan. The song was a hit and became her breakthrough.
Throughout her career, Vani has been associated with top-notch composers like Vijaya Bhaskar, G. K. Venkatesh, K. V. Mahadevan, Rajan-Nagendra, Satyam and Chakravarthy.
She is known for her powerful voice and her songs are infused with strong female-centric themes. Her songs have been featured in many Kannada films and are popular among audiences. She has also recorded songs in Tamil and Hindi languages.
Chunky Pandey
Chunky Pandey was a big star in Hindi movies in the 80s and early 90s. His role in films like Aag Hi Aag, Khatron Ke Khiladi, Paap Ki Duniya, Vishwatma, Lootere and Ghar Ka Chiraag helped him become a household name.
He subsequently shifted to Bangladeshi cinema where he became a popular figure. He has acted in some Bangladeshi blockbusters such as ‘Swami Keno Asami’, ‘Meyerao Manush’ and ‘Prem Korechi Besh Korechi’.
His popularity among Bangladeshi movie goers was further boosted by the music of late composer Bappi Lahiri who composed hit songs for him. He went on to star in Bangladeshi films such as ‘Bajarangba’, ‘Mahajan’ and ‘Prem Bhagyashree’.
He later returned to Bollywood with roles in films like ‘Housefull’, ‘Begum Jaan’ and ‘Saaho’. He is considered to be one of the best actors of India.
