Jovita Moore was a famous journalist. She started her career in 1990, working for KFSM-TV in Fort Smith.
She was very passionate about journalism and took every opportunity to build herself. She got a promotion to anchor at WMC-TV based in Memphis, Tennessee.
She then joined ABC partner WSB-TV based in Atlanta. She won eight Emmy awards for her work.
She was married to Sean Griffith
Jovita Moore was married to Sean Griffith in 2006. After their marriage, they had two children together.
The couple tied the knot in a beautiful ceremony on their family estate in Georgia. They also traveled extensively during their marriage, spending time in Africa, Europe, Asia and Latin America.
Their relationship ended in a divorce in 2014. The reason for their separation is still unknown.

Jovita Moore was an American news presenter and reporter who served as the anchor of WSB-TV in Atlanta, Georgia. She presented the daily newscast from 5:00 and 11:00 PM and made weekly reports as well.
She also served as a member of the National Association of Black Journalists and the Atlanta Association of Black Journalists. In addition to her news career, she helped out several civic associations and non-profit organizations throughout the metro Atlanta area.
After a successful career, she was diagnosed with glioblastoma, an aggressive form of brain cancer. She passed away from this disease in October 2021.
The former journalist began her career in Fort Smith, Arkansas for CBS offshoot KFSM-TV, and she later moved to NBC partner WMC-TV in Memphis, Tennessee. She eventually joined ABC partner WSB-TV in Atlanta, Georgia, where she died in 2021.
She was married to pharmaceutical sales rep Sean Griffith for more than a decade, and they had two children. Their relationship ended in a divorce in 2014.
She died from brain cancer
Jovita Moore, the longtime anchor of WSB-TV’s Channel 2 Action News, died Thursday night after fighting an aggressive form of brain cancer for seven months. Doctors discovered two masses on her brain in April and diagnosed her with glioblastoma, a highly-aggressive, incurable cancer that can’t be cured through surgery.
WSB described Moore as “a proud native New Yorker who proudly called Atlanta home” and said she “was an avid supporter of her community.” She donated countless hours to civic associations and non-profit organizations across metro Atlanta, mentoring students and sitting on several boards of directors.
She earned her bachelor’s degree at Bennington College in Vermont and her master’s degree in broadcast journalism from Columbia University in New York City. She began her career as an intern at the New York Times and later worked at WMC-TV in Memphis and KFSM in Fayetteville and Fort Smith, Arkansas.
She also served as a director of a non-profit that helps homeless families. She asked viewers to donate to Our House Atlanta and The National Brain Tumor Society in her honor.

Jovita Moore was a popular news presenter in Atlanta, Georgia. She presented the WSB-TV newscast daily from 5:00 pm to 11:00pm. She has worked in the industry since 1998 and received numerous awards and honors for her work.
She was also a key figure in many civic associations and nonprofit organizations throughout the area. She was also a board member of both the Atlanta Association of Black Journalists and the National Association of Black Journalists.
Sadly, she died on October 28, 2021 after suffering from brain cancer. She was diagnosed with glioblastoma, an aggressive form of cancer.
She was a very loving and caring mother. She often shared cute pics with her daughter on social media.
