She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and a lifelong churchgoer. She also loved to garden and was known as “Aunt Mag” to many nieces and nephews, including Cecil, Silvia, and Yvonne Hewitt.
She was a philanthropist and donated land that became Sandy Point State Park. She is survived by her stepdaughter and many grandchildren.

Mildred Spence was a renowned dentist. She was also the wife of a famous American actor. She died in the year 1979. She was a very good looking lady and had a good physique. She was born in Algoma in Ontario of Canada on 23 September 1907. She worked as a dental student for 8 years before she seriously considered following her other passion, acting.
She appeared in various TV series like Hopalong Cassidy and Cade’s County. She also acted in the film The Gunslinger. She was buried at Forest Lawn Hollywood Hills Cemetery in Los Angeles, California.
Buck Buchanan was a well known actor and he was the son of Edgar Buchanan. He was a regular cast member of the syndicated western series Hopalong Cassidy and also appeared in other films such as The Gunslinger. He was a good looking actor with a very pleasant personality. He was a good friend of Don Knotts and entertained US troops.
William Edgar Buchanan II (1903-1979)
Edgar Buchanan was born on March 20th, 1903 in Humansville, Missouri. He was a dentist by profession and a member of Theta Chi fraternity and a Freemason. Buchanan’s interest in acting began during his college years. He took a course in play interpretation and developed a passion for acting.
He appeared in his first film in 1939, at the age of 36, after which he turned over his dentistry practice to his wife. He starred in over 100 films, including Penny Serenade (1941) with Cary Grant, Tombstone (film) in 1942, The Talk of the Town (1942 film), The Man from Colorado (film) in 1948, Cheaper by the Dozen (1950), Shane (1953), She Couldn’t Say No (1954), Ride the High Country (film) in 1962 with Randolph Scott and Joel McCrea, McLintock! (film) in 1963, and Benji (film) in 1974.
He also starred in three episodes of The Beverly Hillbillies and more than a dozen on Green Acres. He also made two guest appearances on the television mystery drama Perry Mason, starring Raymond Burr.

She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She will be deeply missed by her children, Brenda (Tim) Ellifritt, Richard Keith, Sue (Ed) Mikle; grandchildren, Jack, Sarah and Sammy; great-grandchildren, Sophie, Elise and Arco; sister Isla Vickers; and many nieces and nephews.
Mildred Marguerite Spence was born on 23 September 1907 in Algoma, Ontario, Canada. She married Edgar Buchanan II on 7 April 1928. They had one son together. Edgar was a well-known American actor.
She lived in Sorel, Quebec and Toronto for 25 years and then moved to Victoria. She was a dedicated and active volunteer, serving on the board of the Sorel Historical Society and the Sorel Women’s Institute. She was also a member of the Royal Canadian Legion and the Moose and Elk Lodge. She was a loving and kind friend to all who knew her. She will be missed by her family, neighbors and friends. She was a very special lady.

Mildred Marguerite Spence died in the early 80s at the age of 79. She had lived a long and fulfilling life, and was known for her work as a dentist. She also married and had a son with a famous actor.
She is survived by a stepdaughter, Leonie Labrot Gately of Annapolis; a niece, Jane Young Davis of Maryland; four great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Her family suggests memorial contributions to the Evangelical Presbyterian Church, 710 Ridgely Ave., Annapolis 21401; or the International Eye Foundation, 7801 Norfolk Ave., Bethesda 20814.
She was born in Algoma, Ontario, Canada and moved to the United States with her family when she was young. She attended school in Washington, D.C. and Nebraska. She eventually settled in Holly Beach, Maryland and was a yachtswoman and philanthropist. Her donations helped to create Sandy Point State Park in Maryland. She was also a member of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church in Annapolis.
